We are nearing the MOBS release date and I wanted to make sure that you're up to date with your Social Marketing for My Online Business Strategy.

Make time to use your social networking tools, Facebook and Twitter being the most common, at least once a week.  This will help to keep your followers and friends up to date with developments within your online business.

Do not spread yourself too thin, it is very easy to spend time registering on these sites only to find out you don't have time to keep track and update them all. Concentrate on two or three social networking platforms such as Facebook or Twitter.

Use a consistent username.  It helps in identifying you and people can find you more easily across the different sites.

Use the same avatar on all your social networking sites so that people can easily recognize you.  Avoid using a pseudonym.  It is better to use your real name for credibility purposes.

Reply to comments, questions and negative feedback. Conversation is very important.  Do not ignore people that ask questions or want to know more about your product.  Remember that Gary Gregory implemented a superior support system in My Online Marketing Strategy and that is why you should incorporate this in your online business as well.

Some of you will have read my earlier posts where I said how quickly the MOBS twitter account when from zero to 1000 followers.

As you build sites you should add widgets of these platforms to your site to make linking easier.  People that visit your site must be able to join your page on Facebook and follow you on Twitter without the difficulty of having to do an extensive search for you or your product.

If you have a blog you should add your blog to ‘networked blogs’ within Facebook and syndicate it to publish to your page’s wall as well as your Twitter account.  This way, each time you make a blog post, it is automatically published to Facebook and Twitter.  This method saves you a lot of trouble and time.

I think to be fair I probably got distracted into making my mark and not focusing on the pure business opportunity – I guess I always like my sites to look nice and be easy to maintain. On the point of maintenance I have started to put together a pack of themes which are ideally suited to My Online Business Strategy sites. I am considering either providing from one of the sites to members only or perhaps FREE to all. My Online Business Strategy is a community after all – right?
